What species of wood slabs do you carry?

Our Sonoma County inventory is constantly evolving based on the logs we recycle. The species we mill are:

Acacia, Ash, Cedar, Claro Walnut, Cottonwood, Cypress, Elm, Ironbark Eucalyptus, Maple, Poplar, Redwood, Sycamore.

What species of wood should we use for our project?

Accepted Answer

Many factors should be considered when determining the most suitable species for your project. Knowing what type of finished look you desire helps narrow down the list, as each species has different  color tones and undertones as well as a different level of hardness. How hard or soft the wood is should be considered when deciding on the proper finish and application of the material.

Do you cut these trees down for lumber?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely not! We never cut for timber value! All of the lumber we mill is from “Second Life Logs” We responsibly recycle trees that were deemed hazardous or that fell over.

Sustainability and respect for Mother Nature are our core values.

What finish should I use on my project?

Finishing is a riddle only you can solve knowing how much time, money, and effort you wish to invest as well as the desired end results. See our guidance page for more detailed factors to take into consideration when choosing a finish.

What sizes of wood slabs do you carry?

We have sizes from 2’ – 21’ Long and from 6”-80” Wide.

Can we come look at your inventory?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely! No one knows what you want better than you. There is a significant amount of variation and personal preference involved in this process, so we want you to be involved from start to finish.
